Antonio Puerta

Why #16?Puerta, a Sevilla academy player, collapsed during a league match in August 2007 and died three days later, aged 22. Sevilla said they would retire his 16, but the Spanish federation refused: squads must use 1 to 25 with no gaps. The club made it an academy shirt instead, and since 2015 only youth-team products have worn it.Source: en.wikipedia.org
