Why #37?Litmanen asked Liverpool for 77, to carry the sevens of his two idols, Kevin Keegan and Kenny Dalglish. He was told it was too high — it would have been the biggest number in the league — so he took 37 instead, and decided it was better: three times seven, for Keegan, Dalglish and himself.Source: liverpoolfc.com
